The Mre11 complex (Mre11, rad50, nbs1) is one of three members of the Mre11-Rad50-Nbs1 (MRN) family of proteins. The human Mre11 complex is a large assembly of heterodimeric subunits which are linked by a number of noncovalent interactions. The nbs1 subunit of the Mre11 complex contains a Src homology 3 (SH3) domain that binds both Rad50 and Mre11. Mutations in the nbs1 gene are linked to cellular sensitivity to DNA damaging agents and defects in DNA repair. Rad50 has been shown to be essential for both recombinational and nonrecombinational DNA repair. It has also been implicated in telomere capping. Recent studies have demonstrated that Mre11 can interact with both Rad50 and nbs1 in vivo and in vitro, suggesting that the Mre11 complex has a role in DNA repair.The present invention relates to the regeneration of spent catalyst and, in particular, the in situ regeneration of catalyst such as that used in gas phase catalytic conversion processes. The invention is particularly useful in treating a portion of catalyst to be recycled in a gas phase catalytic conversion process. The use of catalysts to convert fossil fuels to lighter hydrocarbon products, such as gasoline, diesel fuel, kerosene and fuel oils is well known in the art. Catalysts typically used in the conversion of hydrocarbons typically comprise one or more catalytic metals (e.g., platinum, rhenium, tungsten, etc.) supported on a suitable support material. One common method of introducing a catalyst to the reaction zone in such systems is by using a solid bed of catalyst particles that is fluidized by passing a gas stream through the particles. This method of catalyst introduction, however, does not allow for introduction of more than one catalyst or for changing the catalyst during the operation of the reactor. A common method of introduction of multiple catalysts to a reaction zone is through the use of multiple stages of catalyst in a series of reactors. In this arrangement, each reactor is provided with its own catalyst and is operated separately from the other stages in the arrangement. This method of operation, however, requires each catalyst to have its own reactor and handling equipment, adding greatly to the complexity and cost of the system
