I've Got The Blues (In a good way)

Updated: Dec 20, 2019

The color gods over at Pantone have recently released their choice for color of the year as...drumroll please...BLUE! That’s right folks, classic blue is making a hard come back, and I am so here for it.

Let me tell you why classic blue is the new blue. First of all, we have seen shades and hues of blue pop up over the past few years in tons of event designs and homes. Dusty blue is still having a good run in linens, runners, and draping for events. Its dark counterpart, navy blue, is a favorite in clothing, furniture and stationary. But swooping in like a thief in the night comes my girl blue, (not be confused with Blue Ivy who is a superstar in her own right) with all her shine and glory. Go blue go!

Blue stands to bring true brighter and bolder colors to the forefront of typical neutral patterns and trends. Pops of blue speak to life. According to The Color Wheel Pro, Blue symbolizes trust, loyalty, wisdom, confidence, intelligence, faith, truth, and heaven. Blue is considered beneficial to the mind and body So bringing in blue to your event can set a tone, better yet, an ease that everything is going to be alright.

Not too long ago, before we even knew what the color of the year for 2020 would be, we did a photoshoot that focused on our new favorite color. I think the pictures will speak for themselves, but of course, we’d love to hear from you! How do you feel about how we used blue and how do you plan on using the color of the year in your upcoming events or even in your home.

Also, does all this talk about blue suddenly make you want Blue Bell Ice Cream?!?!?! (Well at least I do). Enjoy!
